At 3:15 p.m. of February 19th, the team of four from Gloryren arrived at the Campus Virchow-Klinikum of Charité–University Medicine Berlin to visit Prof. Tacke, Director of the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology. We had a 45-mintue internal meeting with Prof. Tacke, mainly discussing the upcoming in-depth cooperation with the Department of Gastroenterology of the Yancheng Third People's Hospital. As planned, GE Haijue, Deputy Director of the Department of Gastroenterology of the hospital will join Prof. Tacke's team on March 16th to start his 6-month fellowship. In early August, Prof. Tacke will visit Yancheng Third People's Hospital, conducting a one-week international visiting professorship. Prof. Tacke said that the clinical focuses and research directions of the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center of the hospital fit well with his, and thinks highly of the promising collaboration between both teams. After the meeting, Prof. Tacke personally showed us around the wards of the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology and the Interdisciplinary Endoscopy Center. During the visit, Prof. Tacke thoroughly introduced the state-of-the-art equipment and techniques of the Interdisciplinary Endoscopy Center, demonstrating their consistent efforts in providing high-standard patient care. As specially mentioned by Prof. Tacke, the Center performs around 6,000 upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, 2,000 ERCP, and 5,000 colonoscopies every year, and its annual endoscopic operation volume reaches nearly 20,000. The numbers not only reflect the superb expertise of the Center in endoscopic diagnosis and treatment, but also indicate its leading position in clinical diagnosis and treatment. While showing us around the wards, Prof. Tacke also introduced our team to the managing staff of every ward, further enhancing mutual trust and understanding. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Tacke brought us to the office of Dr. Kouladouros, a Senior Physician of the Interdisciplinary Endoscopy Center in person and explained in detail the 6-month visit plan of Deputy Director GE Haijue. We deeply felt Prof. Tacke's sincere passion and firm commitment to the long-term cooperation with Yancheng Third People's Hospital. We look forward to witnessing an even deeper and broader cooperation of the both sides led by Prof. Tacke.
